How To CleanUpdated 19 days ago
Hopefully, your Ombraz have been exposed to sunscreen, face oils, salt water, splatters of hot dog grease, trickles of rosé, dust and dirt. If they haven’t been, we’re sorry. Salt water won't damage the cord - it's marine-grade and antimicrobial. But sweat, salt water and sunscreen can damage your lenses and frames over time, so it's a good idea to rinse everything every once in a while.
Below is a guide to making your Ombraz feel brand new again:
- If the adjusters feel a smidge tight or difficult to adjust:
- Rinse the cord with warm water and wash with any mild soap. This will clean the gunk out of your cord so the adjusters slide smoothly again.
- After washing, we like to pinch a clean towel with our fingers and pull the cord through - it’s satisfying, we promise. Make sure you let the cord dry to thwart any lingering moisture.
- If your lenses feel greasy or more smeared than usual:
- Use warm water and any mild soap to clean the lenses and remove the grease.
- Don’t use any strong abrasive glass cleaners or chemicals; firstly, they’re gnarly and we don’t want those on your hands, secondly, this could damage the hydrophobic and oleophobic coatings that make your lenses easy to clean.
- Make sure to wipe the lenses with a clean, dry towel to remove any excess oils after washing.
When not in use, keep your Ombraz in their protective neoprene case to protect the lenses from scratching. No need to tuck in the cord and adjusters, keep those outside the case.
