Ombraz can be worn while surfing on calmer days. We have a number of pro surfers who wear these in the water - but they are mostly longboarders who wear them in less chaotic surfing conditions. Kai Sallas and Thzahi, two of the best longboarders in the world, swear by them on calmer days. We've worn them in bigger surf and they can fall off inside the proverbial washing machine that is a wave. BUT! We have developed a solution for Ombraz that may happen to fall off in the water - a tiny detachable orange Floatie that attaches to the cord in the back and keeps the Ombraz afloat.
