Can I use my Ombraz as safety glasses? Are Ombraz ANSI Z87 certified?Updated a month ago

Every style of Ombraz ordered after May 2025 is ANSI Z87.1-rated, except the Refugios and the Azzurros - we chose to optimize optical performance over impact resistance on those styles, but they're still super durable, just not the ideal choice for the worksite.
Wondering where the ANSI marking is? Since we didn’t license the official ANSI stamp, the frames aren’t marked with the Z87.1 identifier, but shoot our support team a note if your employer needs proof, and we can get them the necessary docs
To check if your pair is ANSI Z87.1-rated: if the right zip clip (the rectangular sheath where the cord attaches to the frame) is engraved with ‘MADE IN ITALY’, then your pair is verified ANSI certified! Older and other models are not ANSI Z87.1 rated; they do still pass rigorous impact resistance tests - we just never certified them. Low light is not safety rated quite yet, and we’re actively working on testing all our styles for certification.
